Earlier this month, Cheryl and Liam appeared to confirm their romance by publicly stepping out together (and holding hands) in London. The couple had kept us guessing with a slew of teasing Instagram posts in recent weeks and now, Perrie has had her say on showbiz's hot new couple.
Speaking to The Mirror, Perrie (who was previously engaged to 1D star Zayn Malik) revealed she is pleased Cheryl is in a relationship with Liam.
Perrie said: "Cheryl is a good friend of mine. She wants to do whatever makes her happy... I'm happy for her."
Since being linked to Liam, Cheryl has had to face a slew of criticism about the pair dating, but Perrie didn't seem phased by the pairing. She added: "Whatever makes her happy I think is fine."
Perrie's comments on the couple come after fans questioned whether Cheryl is in love with Liam. The 32-year-old had posted a quote to Instagram that read: "I fall in love with souls, not faces."
Many speculated whether Cheryl's post was a reference to her new beau, but before we start to read too much into it, Cheryl has previously said her tweets and Instagrams never have a hidden meaning.
Fans have been reading into her social media activity lately and setting the record straight on all those indirect tweets and cryptic quotes, Cheryl hit back: "My posts are not ever intended to be "cryptic" or hold "hidden message". If they're quotes then they're usual on general topics I care about and not about any personal situation I may be experiencing at the time. Not my style."
Reports reveal she and Liam first got together back in December last year, following Cheryl's split with husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini. He has since been seen gushing about the 'Call My Name' singer, telling Cheryl: "I hope I can make you as happy as you make me."
