Although Ellie has a worldwide fan base thanks to her uh-mazing vocals, her love life also garners a lot of attention too. The 29-year-old has been linked to One Directinon's Niall Horan and had a rumoured fling with Ed Sheeran. Better than the usual Tinder offerings hey?
Speaking to Seventeen magazine (and gorgeously gracing the April issue cover) Ellie set the record straight. On going out with One Direction's Niall Horan, she said: "We're still friends. We went on a few dates, and it was really fun. He's a really, really lovely guy. He's got the biggest sense of humour, he's very caring, and I see him as a genuine friend in the industry."
And addressing whether she'd dated Ed Sheeran and then penned a track 'On My Mind' about their romance, she said: "We've known each other for a few years. I think he's a really nice guy and a brilliant musician. We've bumped into each other and we've hung out and stuff, but the thing is if I hang out with someone, it's instantly like I'm 'dating"' them. We were never in a relationship. My song is not about him."
So who is it about, then? We're seriously intrigued...
Ellie's former McBusted beau Dougie Poynter could always be the inspiration behind the track. She recently confirmed their pair had split again just months after reuniting.
"I'm not in a relationship any more so that has been hard," she told The Sun. "Everyone knows breaking up with someone is a terrible thing and it's really hard and it's complicated.
"It's never going to be easy and I can't think of any of my friends who have been through a break up and said it was alright so it has been hard and I'm just grateful that I'm incompletely preoccupied with my tour and getting to see my fans."
The 29-year-old admitted if she wasn't on tour, she would probably be "over thinking things" and "wallowing" in her relationship woes. Instead, she is concentrating on performing across the world on her 'Delirium' tour.
Ellie added: "I'm trying to keep my mind off it by watching and reading things."
She also spoke of her fondness for her ex-boyfriend, crediting McFly star Dougie for being a "really special person".
Ellie gushed: "He's one of the most special people in the world and I'm so happy for him he's doing so well in LA... he's still one of my best friends and I know he feels the same."
