Anyone hoping to apply as a solo singer, duo or trio must be at least 16 years of age on or before 1st October 2016.

A statement read: "In 2017 The Voice is coming to ITV! We're looking for incredible singers who want to perform for the nation, plus be in with a chance of winning a major recording contract.

"There will be talent scouts visiting Open Mic Nights all around the UK – if you want your voice to be heard, come and see us at the venues here."

Next year will see the talent show at its new home on ITV in a three-year deal, which includes a spin-off show on ITV2 and a two-series contract for The Voice Kids.
