Rachel Christie has given singletons some top tips if they're hoping to apply for the new series of Love Island.

Model and former athlete Rachel appeared on the first revamped series of the show last year, and now a new batch of singletons will soon be stepping in her shoes for the second series this summer.

"Just brace yourself," Rachel tells us at the Vertical Rush charity race for Shelter. "You have to have a lot of confidence. If you don't have a lot of confidence then don't go on there! Seriously, it makes you feel like you're ugly!"

While there's a lot of drama and romance on Love Island, the islanders also have to remember that it's a game. After all, the winning couple have the chance to split the £50,000 prize money.

"It's a game and I didn't realise how much of a game it was," continues Rachel, who was eliminated in the second week of the dating show. "To go on a show like that, you have to be pretty shrewd and wanting to be a bitch. You've got to be cut-throat basically - be nice, but cut-throat.

"The minute I got in there I was like 'oh my god, no! I want to go home!' I would do it again now because I know how it is from experience. But if I knew what it was going to be like before I went on there, I would have said no."
