The five-part drama series, which was a huge ratings hit, told the story of Doctor Gemma's (Suranne Jones) life being turned upside down after discovering her husband Simon (Bertie Carvel) is cheating on her with young girl Kate (Jodie Comer).
Each episode saw Gemma uncover more deadly truths and deceit as she planned how to exact her revenge on Simon, while also trying to protect their son Tom.
"Yeah, I'm doing the second series - I'm in!" Jodie told our colleagues over at Digital Spy. "They're keeping it hush-hush. It's not filming until the end of the year so it's confirmed that I'm going back, but everything else, I've been left in the dark. I'll be interested myself to see where the characters go."
Playing young graduate Kate, who had moved back home after finishing university, Jodie said it was "crazy" how viewers to reacted to her character.
"It was crazy - especially with Kate, because she riled people up so much... I think I've been called every name under the sun.
"But it's so much fun. I love all that. It's good to see that it's affected people - they really care about it. The best bit for me was watching the reactions on Gogglebox!"
In January, Suranne said the second series was "not going to be a whole new ball game".
She told TV Times: "I can't say much, only that most of the original cast are returning. It's not going to be a whole new ball game, it's a continuation of Gemma and Simon's story, but it's a different stage in their life."
