Can you imagine? We think that would be quite brilliant.

Since Olly Murs and Caroline Flack both announced they have stepped down from presenting duties, rumours have been rife about who will end up replacing the pair for this year's X Factor series.

Throwing her name into the hat, mum-of-five Katie made it public knowledge she is keen to snap up the gig. She tweeted: "I would defo present X factor @ITV @SimonCowell @TheXFactor now that would be interesting."

Katie and Simon Cowell? Now that's a force to be reckoned with, no?

Fans were quick to comment on Katie's tweet, telling the former glamour model they would love to see her taking over the reigns.

One user commented: "Aaaah I would love this, was all for Dermot's return but I think you'd be brill!!" While another said: "We'll be happy to have you."

Others suggested that Katie would make a better judge than presenter and revealed their hopes to see her on the panel alongside Simon and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

One fan gushed: " I want you as a judge, that would be f**king incredible. Another tweeted: "At least you would be more truthful and say is as it is."

Simon, your thoughts?

Katie's desire to join The X Factor lineup comes after THREE stars have quit the show so far this year.

Nick Grimshaw was the first to go, announcing his exit last week. The Radio 1 DJ revealed he was stepping down from the judging panel after just one series on the show, telling fans it had been a "once in a lifetime opportunity."

Nick said: "I loved Simon and Cheryl and Rita and everyone who worked on it, and all the boys, the mentoring stuff, I loved. I genuinely loved it. There is no bad blood. I just want to watch it on the telly."

Olly Murs then confirmed he had quit as host of The X Factor to focus on his music, with Caroline Flack confirming she too has left shortly after.

Following their announcements, Emma Willis has been hotly tipped to be Caroline and Olly's replacement this year.

She was first linked to the talent show back in December, but dismissed reports she was joining The X Factor. At the time Emma said: "I've definitely not been asked to. I've never even met Simon Cowell before."
