Former Love Island star Jonathan Clark is heading back onto our screen, but this time as a newbie on The Only Way Is Essex.

Yup, yesterday it was confirmed Jon and his little brother Chris Clark are the newest additions to the TOWIE cast, and we, like many others, were so excited to hear the cheeky Essex boy will be rubbing shoulders with Danielle Armstrong, Pete Wicks, Arg and co.

Following his big announcement, Jon took to Twitter to thanks fans for their support, revealing he was embarking on a "new chapter" in his life.

Jonathan and his brother Chris are the newest TOWIE recruits.

Jon tweeted: "Thank you to everyone for your kind messages! Such a loverly reaction, new chapter of my life @OnlyWayIsEssex and with my bro @ChrisJClark_."

A true Essex geezer, we have no doubt that Jon will fit right in with our Essex faves. He's already well acquainted with all the Essex hotspots (Sheesh Chigwell, anyone?), he's great pals with Mike Hassini, Dan Edgar and James Lock and he's got the hair and clobber to rival our TOWIE boys.

Jon first shot to fame after starring on the last series of Love Island, where he stole our hearts thanks to his onscreen romance with glamour model Hannah Elizabeth.

He had even proposed to Hannah on the show, with the pair finishing in second place when the series wrapped up. Hannah and Jon continued their love affair back home, but sadly the couple later split, calling off their engagement. Sob.

That means Jon is currently single, so who knows a TOWIE romance could be on the cards? Danni's single, Chloe Sims isn't currently taken and there are two new girls hitting the Essex scene too: Chloe Meadows and Courtney Green.

Does that mean we'll get more heart-felt declarations of love including rainbows and unicorns? Oh, yes please!

As well as wearing his heart on his sleeve, Jon also gained a rep for stirring the pot on Love Island. Yup, that boy was always central to the drama: "Bring in the Jonathan..."

He was also a tad handy at dishing out advice too, and after the pickle some of the Essex lot get themselves into, we reckon it's definitely going to be needed.

We can't wait to see Jon and Chris in action!
