The new series of Love Island is on its way, but is anyone else wondering what happened to the class of 2015?

Using Caroline Flack's famous words, "it was a long, hot summer", and we got an equal mix of romance and drama when a bunch of singletons were thrown into a villa in Majorca.

Despite some hoping to find love, it was, at the end of the day, a game. While not everyone left as a couple or managed to make it through to the final, we did have some couples on the show. Here's what happened to them next...

What happened on the show?
Jess and Max won the show, beating Hannah and Jon to the post. Their road to romance was rocky in the villa with numerous couple swaps throughout the competition - especially Jess' constant clashes with Naomi Ball. However, towards the end Max decided Jess was the one he wanted to be with and he asked her to "officially" be his girlfriend. She said yes, of course, and they soon emerged as the winners of the show, pocketing the £50,000 prize fund.

What happened next?
They continued their romance on the outside, but were plagued with split reports. After six weeks they broke up for good in August 2015. Some few days later Max was seen hanging out with Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby. They began dating but their romance came to an abrupt end after a few months when Charlotte was caught kissing her ex Gary 'Gaz' Beadle on Snapchat. Max moved on and soon after enjoyed a "date night" with Miss Great Britain, Zara Holland.

What happened on the show?
They were the first couple to pair up on day one, and they were joined at the hip ever since. Jon fell in love with fellow contestant Hannah in the villa, but while they argued, kissed and made up, he also told her that she made him "feel like a unicorn". Trust us, it was the most emotional heart-to-heart ever. Hannah and Jon were so much in love that they even got engaged in the villa. Jon proposed on bended knee and a teary-eyed Hannah happily said yes.

What happened next?
Sadly, the love story didn't last and on a holiday to Spain in October, an argument led the couple to call it quits. Fast forward less than a year, and Jon now stars on another reality show, The Only Way Is Essex. Viewers have already seen him set his sights on his TOWIE co-star Chloe Sims, saying she made him "feel like a multi-coloured caterpillar". They've since decided to remain friends. Hannah, meanwhile, is still modelling and has moved on from Jon, as she is now happily loved-up with George Andreetti.

Lauren Richardson and Josh Ritchie (third place)

What happened on the show?
Lauren and Josh paired up (as friends only) when they both failed to find love on the show. They didn't win, however, coming into third place. Lauren was unlucky in love, but Josh had his fair share of romance in the villa. He paired up, and recoupled a few times, and was most notably .

What happened next?
Lauren and Josh left the competition as friends. In December 2015, Josh and Naomi Ball sparked reunion rumours when he shared new photos of her to Instagram. Josh had also been previously linked to TOWIE's Danielle Armstrong, and then he found himself at the centre of a storyline about it in March this year.

Luis Morrison and Cally Jane Beech

What happened on the show?
Luis was reunited with Cally when she became a late arrival on the show. They had actually originally dated before the show, but were reunited when Cally decided to surprise Luis and put herself forward to enter the villa. The boys had to pick one girl to join the villa, and luckily for Luis, they all decided on Cally. The couple got back together from that day and entertained us all when they had to look after a fake baby, which Luis called baby Jamal, for the day.

What happened next?
They're still going strong and are super loved up! In fact, Luis and Cally can't stop gushing about each other and have promised to get married one day. Luis previously told Reveal : "We're still in love and happy as ever. I can 100% see us getting married, I've actually been having a browse for rings!"

What happened on the show?
The pair had a rocky road to romance on the ITV2 show. Jordan initially coupled up with Daisy Muller, but he soon realised it was Zoe who he had feelings for, and so he then paired up with her. Zoe and Jordan hooked up in the villa and hit a few rocky patches, but who could forget that famous 'spider' euphemism as the pair were beginning to enjoy some bedroom action! They were voted out before the live final but left the island as boyfriend and girlfriend.

What happened next?
Zoe and Jordan continued their romance but were battling a long distance relationship with Zoe based in London and Jordan in Gloucestershire. The pair parted ways a month after the show ended. She confirmed they had split after sharing an Instagram message with fans in August 2015, which read: "To all those who have asked Hulk and I are no longer together. Thanks so much for all your kind comments and messages throughout, wish him all the best #onwardsandupwards." Jordan has since moved on and he is now in a relationship with pink-haired model Dannika Jeffrey.
