Gary Beadle had fans speculating that he was referring to his ex-girlfriend Lillie Lexie Gregg as "embarrassing" in a recent tweet.

The Geordie Shore star split from his girlfriend of one year back in November, and claimed that their hectic work schedules in TV and fashion made it impossible for their relationship to continue.

At the time there was no animosity between the former flames, with Gaz describing their time together as "amazing" and Lillie insisting she felt the same, telling fans "There is nothing and never will be anything bad between us."

However Gary's latest Tweet sparked speculation that he was having a dig at Lillie, after she signed to a celebrity management agency who described her in an online profile as a "Fashion Designer, Model and Social Media Star."

On Wednesday (17 February) Gary cryptically tweeted to all his 2.2 million followers with the words: "'Social media star' wow man this is getting embarrassing."

Noticing the similar wording on Lillie's profile and in Gaz's Tweet, fans were quick to question whether he was referring to Lillie, however, others encouraged him to focus on his rekindled romance with Geordie Shore co-star Charlotte Crosby instead.

Lillie hasn't responded to the rumours, instead the designer has been dedicating her time (and Twitter feed) to building up to the release of her new collection for Lily Beau London.

The split was first announced by Gaz last year, after wrapping up filming for Geordie Shore's 12th series, he tweeted: "Single again... Want to wish Lillie all the best for the future.. Was an amazing year.."

He had admitted it was "love at first sight" when he initially met Lillie and even spoke of his hopes to have children with her some time in the future.

"In a few years, I would love a little Gary running around," he confessed. "I've heard Gary's are going extinct. We're going to have a little Gary junior, but not just yet. I can't be in Geordie Shore with a little kid running around."
