'Call My Name' singer Cheryl, 32, is said to have split with the French restauranteur last year... But, according to The Sun, he does not want them to split.
In fact, a family member tells the newspaper, he would like to fulfil their dream of having kids together.
The X Factor judge tied the knot with Jean-Bernard in 2014 after a whirlwind romance of just a few months. Recently however, the pair have been hit with rumours that they've parted ways.
It was alleged that popstar Chezza had formally filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences", although neither Cheryl nor JB has confirmed the reports.
However, they have not been spotted together since October 2015 and Cheryl has been seen without her wedding ring.
Now, a close family member says Jean-Bernard, 34, has been sending flowers, chocolates and jewellery to prove his love and even has a mystery surprise lined up for Valentine's Day.
Speaking from France, they say: "He does not want to divorce Cheryl and wants to make a go of their marriage. He's still in love with her.
"JB wanted a child with Cheryl, they were trying and he would still like a child if they stay together.
"Family is everything for JB, he was devoted to his parents Bernard and Francoise.
"They were together 37 years and were only separated when they died. As far as JB is concerned that is the only way a marriage should end.
"He's still wearing his wedding ring to show the world he wants to give their marriage a go.''
This time last year, Jean-Bernard whisked Cheryl away to the Maldives for a romantic holiday.
The newspaper also reports that Cheryl is being helped through her marriage split by "close friend" Craig David, with whom she has "something special".
The pair met on the set of The X Factor in December, where singer Craig performed with Cheryl's act Reggie N Bollie at the final.
