The former TOWIE star was asked about his late grandmother, who passed away just before Christmas after battling a short illness.
Mark told the women: "Of course it is hard. It's been very hard but life moves on and we're all sticking together as a family. We have a great tight knit family. Loads are here in the audience now. She was the life and soul of the party, always making everyone smile, cooking, always making the tea."
Mark said that wife Michelle Keegan had got on really well with Nanny Pat and they both came from big families who put family above everything else.
Nanny Pat passed away in December at the age of 80. A statement released by her family at the time read: "Sadly our amazing, courageous and beautiful Nanny Pat passed away this morning after a short illness. We are overwhelmed by sadness, and the whole family ask for privacy at this horrible time."
Her death was greeted with an outpouring of grief by TOWIE stars and fans of the show, who had grown familiar with Nanny Pat on screen over the years.
Mark paid tribute to his grandmother on New Year's Eve, saying it had been a bittersweet year as it contained the sadness of her death as well as the joy of marrying wife Michelle in May. "Life is all about ups & downs," he wrote. "This year 1 special woman vowed to be in my life forever and 1 special woman left my life forever... Be prepared for the best & worst moments."
