The 27-year-old shared the moment with his mother while talking about the impending arrival of his first child with Sam, son Paul Tony, who was born on 29 December.
Already former TOWIE star Sam has come out in Paul's defence, saying there is nothing wrong with a mum kissing her son on the lips, and now the Loose Women have waded into the debate.
On today's show, footage of the kiss scene was played. Coleen Nolan and Saira Khan both said they found it weird, while Ruth Langsford said she didn't think there was anything wrong with what happened.
"Oh, no, no, no!" said Saira. "I have children, they kiss me on the lips, that's fine, they are under ten. I don't know when the age is right to not kiss someone. I just find that odd and weird. I thought that was a bit too weird."

Coleen said: "I'm with you. I'm very tactile with my kids, and when they were little, I would kiss them on the lips, hug and kiss them. But now, Shane is 27, Jake is 23, I can't kiss them on the lips."
She said son Jake winds her up by trying to plant one on her lips because he knows she doesn't like it. She also suggested when children grow up and get partners then the gesture of a kiss on the lips changes meaning.
Ruth, however, totally disagreed. "It's only a kiss with his mum. She hardly has her tongue down his throat! I didn't think it was weird. I have to say, in fairness, I only saw the picture this morning, not the actual show, and I said it depended on how long the kiss lingered for. But now I've seen it, it wasn't a big lingering one."
The moment certainly had viewers talking, prompting Sam to defend her man by sharing a photo of her kissing one-month-old son Paul alongside the caption: "I will kiss my baby boy on the lips forever. Thank you for everyone's support and kind comments on our show. Media & people will always try find negative.I'm happy & so totally in love with my family #myworld #positive x."
She later added: "Wow Paul really is getting some stick. I wish people wouldn't look into it so much. It's just a TV show edited & made for good viewing.
"Yes he fell asleep reading baby books, didn't attend yoga & no he doesn't cook but he is the most caring loving man I know. & the best daddy to baby Paul. Also I'd like to add... This is then man who got me better from Crohn's disease. Months of studying and researching to find me alternative natural medication. He's my hero."
