The Celebrity Big Brother runner-up, 22, admits she felt so low because of past abusive relationships that she tried to take her own life.
She told the Daily Star Sunday:"I've been through so much. In past relationships I've had both physical and mental abuse. There was a time when I overdosed."
However, the former Hollyoaks star now insists: "I'm a stronger person now."
The actress went into the CBB house with a boyfriend Sam Reece, but fell in love with Jeremy McConnell while in the house.
She now says that her time on the reality TV show helped her to think things through...
She adds: "There were things from the past that I weighed up while I was in the house. And I won't be putting myself through any of those kinds of things again. I've got a lot more self-worth now."
She also believes she went into the house as a girl, and came out a woman.
Although her growing relationship with Irish model Jeremy angered some viewers, she eventually came second in the show.
During her exit interview she claimed Sam cheated on her - claims he strongly denies.
She told host Emma Willis: "If everything was sweet at home then it wouldn't have been like that. I was just accepting the love that I was given."
Talking about past hurt, she said: "A few years ago I got really badly treated to the point I've still got counselling now.
"I kept staying with him just to keep being disappointed and feeling worthless in myself. Then Jez came along and he made me feel like I've never felt before. He is just the best person I've ever met. He is the best thing going."
She also described a past relationship as "toxic", saying: "I think I was in love with the idea of being in love, that's why I stuck with someone who hurt me and hurt me and hurt me. It turned toxic."
