The singing superpower, 34, dropped the new track late on Saturday night (6 February) - totally out of the blue!
Posting the accompanying video on her official website Beyonce.com and on YouTube, fans were quick to notice her daughter Blue Ivy takes centre stage.
Adds a new meaning to take your kid to work day!
We don't think four-year-old Blue Ivy - her daughter with husband Jay-Z - will be watching the video any time soon, though - the song has explicit lyrics throughout.
After the video went live, fans expressed their happiness on social media.
One fan remarked: "Beyoncé broke out a new sinlge which in return almost broke the Internet..."
Another said: "Queen B slay."
"Yassssss YONCE, blue blue looks too adorable in the video with her afro," said one eagle-eyed viewer.
In the video, Beyoncé can be seen on top of a submerged police car in New Orleans, before a number of raunchy outfit changes.
The new track is Bey's first since her Beyoncé: Platinum Edition was released in November 2014.
The 'Single Ladies' star is due to perform at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show, where Coldplay will be headlining.
A new album is rumoured to be coming soon from the Texas-born superstar.
