Following the birth of her third son, Kit, last weekend, Coleen revealed she'd turned to a placenta encapsulation specialist to convert her after birth into pills.
Writing in her column for The Sun on Sunday, fellow mum Katie said: "Good on Coleen Rooney for having her placenta turned into pills after she gave birth to her adorable son Kit. It's great she's promoting this new way for tired mums to take care of themselves.
Katie said she turned down the opportunity to have her own placenta turned into pills following the birth of daughter Belle two years ago.
"It wasn't for me but I think the criticism Coleen has faced is wrong. You are not going to do any harm to yourself."
She added: "Placenta pills could catch on. They are not that expensive and are discussed in most mother and baby groups now. One day, buying them could be as normal for new mums as buying a big box of nappies."
Coleen and husband Wayne Rooney welcomed their third son on Sunday, 24 January, and shared the first photo of him to Twitter the next day. He joins their sons Kai and Klay.
