Zayn Malik has cancelled his first solo TV appearance since quitting One Direction.

The singer was due to appear on The Graham Norton Show on Friday but pulled out due to a "scheduling conflict".

His rep told The Mirror: "Unfortunately there was a scheduling conflict as Zayn is currently in the studio completing his album."

It was a prime time for Zayn to promote his new single, having announced to fans over the weekend that his debut solo offering 'Pillow Talk' will be due for release on Friday (29 January).

While Zayn has conducted a few magazine interviews, he is yet to publicly speak about his solo career and his exit from 1D on television.

Zayn was due to appear on Graham Norton's BBC One chat show alongside A-list guests Will Smith, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Ryan Reynolds.

Meanwhile, Zayn appears in One Direction's new music video for 'History' as the visual documents old footage of the band from their days on The X Factor to their global success.
