Over the last two weeks viewers have seen former Hollyoaks actress Steph grow close to Irish model Jeremy despite having a boyfriend - model Sam Reece - on the outside.
It's been the talk of the house and on social media thanks to reactions by fans and celebrities. Steph and Jeremy have shared a kiss in the house and we've also seen Jeremy confess to falling in love with her, but Steph has also spoken of plans to marry Sam.
in defence of her daughter, Pauline Davis said the family will "always support" Steph and warned others: "People need to give her a bit of a break."
Speaking to Mail Online, Pauline said: "Stephanie will tell her own side of the story when she leaves the house. She has been through a lot and when put into context everything she has gone through makes sense. We are looking forward to seeing her when she leaves the show."
Steph is up for this week's eviction along with six other housemates, however, it is thought that Sam will not be there to support her.
The complicated Steph and Jeremy saga has led to speculation that Sam wants to end their relationship after he tweeted earlier this month that he was planning to "withdraw support" for Steph via social media, but he insisted they are still a couple.
It has been claimed that he is "shocked and heartbroken" by Stephanie's actions, but he has not publicly spoken about her since his tweet on 11 January.
However, Pauline says that Steph is still young and that she just wants her daughter to be happy.
"Stephanie is 22 years old, at that age I know I made mistakes and could have handled things better – I think people need to give her a bit of a break," said Pauline. "As a family the last few weeks have been tough but the most important thing is Stephanie and her happiness.
"We will always support Stephanie with whichever decision she decides to make."
