It smashed box office records and pulled in more than half a billion dollars in ticket sales, but that didn't stop Fifty Shades of Grey earning six Razzie Award nominations.

Oh dear...

The annual ceremony celebrating the worst Hollywood efforts of the past year has named Fifty Shades among its 'Worst Picture' nominees for the year, while lead actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are both nominated individually and as a pair in the 'Worst Screen Combo' category.

Director Sam Taylor-Johnson also earned a nod, along with screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who adapted E.L. James' erotic novel for the big screen.

Other movies nominated for being the 'worst' of the year include Fantastic Four, Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 and Jupiter Ascending, while actors recognised include Johnny Depp, Channing Tatum, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Eddie Redmayne and Amanda Seyfried.

Will Smith and Sylvester Stallone are among the actors nominated in the 'Redeemer' category, after following up 'worst' movies with good ones.

The Razzies are traditionally held in LA the night before the Oscars.

Most of those nominated don't turn up to the ceremony but there are a few exceptions, such as Sandra Bullock, who collected her 'Worst Actress' gong for All About Steve in 2010. The next night she won an Oscar for The Blind Side.
