In December, Prince William and Kate Middleton announced that George will attend the Westacre Montessori School Nursery, which is close to their Cambridge home, Anmer Hall, on the Queen's Sandringham estate.
George, who is third in line to the throne, can be seen wearing a blue backpack and a quilted navy coat.
Looking forward to his big day, the two-year-old was photographed pointing at the colourful wall art. Another photo shows him staring straight at the camera on his way to nursery. Both photos were taken by proud mum Kate.
Kensington Palace tweeted: "Prince George arrives for his first day at nursery in Norfolk earlier today."
The nursery, which is housed in an old chapel, was developed by Italian physician and educator Maria Montessori. It places a focus on a child's independence and their natural physical and social development.
George is expected to attend two or three days per week.
The Westacre Montessori School Nursery said in December: "We are looking forward to welcoming George to our nursery where he will get the same special experience as all of our children."
