The actress became a household name thanks to her role as Sam Mitchell in the BBC One soap, entering the show in 1990 and leaving in 2000, with a brief return in 2009.
(Sam was also played by actress Kim Medcalf from 2002 to 2005.)
When asked if she'd go to back to the show, Danniella said: "We've spoken about it a bit. I love being Sam Mitchell, it's so much fun and so easy for me to do."
But she also has her eyes on another show... "I love EastEnders, but really I'd like to be in Emmerdale. I love the show – it's a bit more drama-ish in the way they run the storylines. I like the area where they shoot it and I'm a very outdoor person!"
If she did land an Emmerdale role, she'd certainly be making her way through the soaps, after also appearing on Hollyoaks. Only Coronation Street left!
Danniella also shared her excitement that former EastEnders co-star Barbara Windsor had been a made a Dame in the New Year Honours List.
"About bloody time! Barbara will be so excited, at home watching. Her and Scott will be voting. Her boyfriend is 25 years younger than her, similar to mine. My boyfriend is 23 - he's four years older than my son! Babs deserves to be a Dame. I'm waiting for June Brown to get the same, because she is a phenomenal actress, she's given so much to the industry over the years and the public love her.
"She does a lot for charity, still drives herself with her work even though she's in her nineties, and is one of three most brilliant people I have learnt from, with Pam St Clement and Barbara."
CBB airs nightly on Channel 5.
