X Factor winner Louisa Johnson may miss out on bagging herself the Christmas number one.

Ever year, the X Factor champ releases their single just in time for the Christmas chart and more often than not they find themselves securing their first number one with their debut track.

Last year, Ben Haenow found himself on top with his single 'Something I Need', but according to reports Louisa is going to struggle to achieve the same with her cover of Bob Dylan's 'Forever Young'...

A spokesperson from William Hill told The Daily Star, Louisa is currently sixth in the chart and could be out of the race when it comes to getting herself a number one.

Instead it's a battle between Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself' (he is currently number one after knocking Adele off of the top spot) and the NHS Choir's 'A Bridge Over You'.

They said: "It appears that momentum has swung towards Justin Bieber but the Choir are far more festive and they could still easily win this."

If that does happen and Louisa does miss out, she wont be the only X Factor contestant to have done so.

Joe McElderry won The X Factor back in 2009 and was denied a number one debut single thanks to Rage Against The Machine controversially boycotting his chances.

They had started a Facebook campaign to overthrow the Christmas chart being dominated by The X Factor and even though they managed to succeed, Joe did finally throw them off the top in the week that followed.

Louisa, meanwhile, has chosen to ignore the speculation surrounding her chart hopes on Twitter, and is instead looking forward to 2016. She tweeted recently: "Cannot WAIT for next year."

Earlier this month, Louisa was crowned the latest winner of The X Factor, beating Reggie 'N' Bollie to the title.

After she was announced as champ, Louisa gushed: "I've imagined this day for so many years. You have no idea how much this means to me, thank you so much."

Now, the 17-year-old has big plans for the future and luckily has the help of her mentor Rita Ora to steer her in the right direction.

Following her win, Louisa revealed Rita had told the singer to keep in touch. She said: "I've got Rita on speed dial, emergency Rita! She said to me if I ever need her or if things get tough I can ring her day or night.

"She's used to this life and understands what's going on... Rita got signed at 17 too so she gets it."
