Cheryl will be working on a new album in the new year, after a well-earned rest over Christmas!

In quotes printed in The Mirror, Cheryl says: "I'll be starting new music in the New Year.

"I'm just looking forward to a little break after The X Factor and Christmas dinner before getting started."

Cheryl, who has also talked about setting up her own record label, added: "I don't know how long the process will take.

"It will depend on how inspired I am to start songwriting or whether I get sent the right tracks, but I'm looking forward to getting back into the studio soon."

Chezza hasn't released an album since her 2014 offering Only Human, which gave us singles including 'Crazy Stupid Love' featuring Tinie Tempah, and the insanely catchy 'I Don't Care'.

It's exciting news for the former Girls Aloud star, who is currently being plagued with rumours about her marriage to French restauranteur Jean-Bernard.

For months, persistent reports have claimed that the pair are said to be leading increasingly separate lives.

While Cheryl has not commented, Jean-Bernard slammed any suggestions he is an absent husband telling his Instagram followers that he put his "life on the line" for Cheryl.

This year, Cheryl has also had to deal with negative comments about her weight.
