Vicky and Spencer were late arrivals to the camp – alongside Ferne McCann – but Spencer's time on the show was cut short when producers withdrew him on medical grounds after just three days.
Now, our Queen of the Jungle Vicky has confessed she was sad to see Spencer go as she developed a soft spot for him during their time together.
She told The Sun: "I did fancy him and I was disappointed he left. We did flirt on the first night, and he never came back. I thought, 'Once you've seen Jorgie, who we'd sent to Snake Rock to join him, you're not going to be interested in me.' But after Spencer had gone, Jorgie said, 'Spencer has just talked about you non-stop.' I thought, 'I hope he comes back.'
Spencer was withdrawn from the jungle after he told producers he'd been taking steroids ahead of arriving in Australia. He issued a statement to fans following his exit, saying sorry for disappointing people and stating he had wanted to stay but bosses said no.
"When I started taking this programme of pills it was in preparation for a charity boxing match which, ironically, never took place. Vanity, I suppose, had been the reason for wanting to bulk up a bit for the fight. I had intended to come off the pills gradually, but there was no time to do this before I reached the jungle.
"My admission to the production team that I was still taking these pills led to the conclusion that it would be unsafe for me to stay in the jungle - a decision which I found extremely hard to stomach. I pushed back but ultimately the show's duty of care prevailed and bags had to be packed."
