Lady C quit the jungle earlier this week on medical grounds, with her agent later revealing she had suffered a fall in camp.
Now 22-year-old Dima has told The Mirror that his mother was in "agonising pain".
He explained: "It was her back and her shoulder. She fell and tripped over her shoes and hurt her back. She has been on medication from quite early on in the show.
"So she has been fighting and proving the trials with agonising pain. I think that makes her even more outstanding and a real fighter."
In her post-exit interview, Lady C said: "Au revoir jungle! Never to return thank god – although I have to say the jungle part of it I actually rather enjoyed.
"It feels absolutely wonderful to be out of the jungle and in civilisation again. It was not the experience I was expecting in any way, shape or form. In many ways it was far more pleasurable and pleasant."
She also slammed Tony Hadley and Duncan Bannatyne's behaviour, and accused them of bullying her in camp, something which both reps for the stars have strenuously denied.
