Viewers were shocked this morning to learn Lady C had been removed from the jungle on medical grounds, and in tonight's episode we saw the moment it happened - though no details of what happened.
She was this year's most controversial and divisive contestant, known for her heated rows with Tony and Duncan, frequent barbs, and rather fascinating stories.
When the news was delivered to camp, Kieron Dyer warned Tony and Duncan: "She's gone but I don't want to hear any gloating from you two, can we agree to that?"
Tony replied: "Bit of a shock, neither myself nor Duncan are going to start cheering. It's not like that, but it's a huge relief as it was such a class of personalities, so she's gone and we're down to seven."
Duncan added: "Absolutely nothing I will miss about Lady C, her accusations, her swearing, the fact that she won't do any work, I'm so glad she's gone."
Lady C's agent spoke about her exit from the jungle on today's This Morning, saying: "She's left because of a medical condition. I know she suffered a fall in the jungle camp and because of that viewers have seen she has been using a special chair to sit on. That's clearly got a bit worse.
"She is sad to be out, but the medical condition might have been exacerbated a bit by a bit of bullying she thinks she has received by two campmates in particular."
No campmates were named by her agent, but Tony's rep later spoke out to say: "These allegations are pure fantasy - the whole nation has witnessed how Lady C has continually made vile and hurtful comments towards various camp-mates. To make accusations of bullying and biased editing is unbelievable and disrespects both the show, and the millions of fans who have tuned in and voted night after night."
