TOWIE's Jessica Wright has given us an update on her relationship with co-star Pete Wicks, simply saying: "It's not complicated."

To be honest, we've been desperate to get a Pete and Jess update ever since, well... the end of series 16, where following *that* bombshell by Lewis Bloor, they managed to sort out their differences and end the finale with a kiss.

They didn't put a label on their relationship, but in a new video on the TOWIE website, Jess has now said: "If I'm going to be kissing anyone under the mistletoe it's going to be Pete, but whether we will or not I really don't know at this stage.

"It's always nice to be with someone or around someone that you quite fancy around Christmas because it's quite a couple-y time of the year. If not I suppose me and Danielle are going to have to snuggle up in front of the fire together!"

Despite Lewis' revelation that he and Jess shared a drunken kiss, and Pete's subsequent fallout with Lewis, there was still hope for Pete and Jess at Nanny Pat's 80th birthday party.

After watching her serenade the crowd with an Adele hit, Pete told Jess he forgave her, and they ended the night with a smooch. After the episode, Pete gave an update on their status as a couple, and while he said the pair still aren't an official item, he didn't rule it out in the near future.

Now Jess has given her own update on their status: "I'm going to create a new saying for mine and Pete's relationship status," she said. "I'm going to call it, 'it's not complicated'. Because it's not complicated, it is what it is, we enjoy each other's company and we don't know where it's going to go but we're not going to complicate things by keep questioning each other and things like that because that's when it does become complicated."

Having already seen Pete's dog Ernest express dislike towards Lewis, Jess added: "I'm yet to bump into Ernest and see his reaction with me. No, I mean this is ridiculous, he's a dog, of course he's going to be fine with me... I hope!"

TOWIE's Christmas special, The Only Way Is Essexmas, will air on Wednesday 16 December at 10pm on ITVBe.
