In tonight's episode of Geordie Shore, viewers will watch Kyle leave Greece, after his co-stars give him and his ex-girlfriend Holly Hagan an ultimatum - one of them has to go.
The group had grown tired of the ex-couple's constant arguing and deciding it would be easier for him to leave, Kyle packed his bags and headed home. However, he did not return to Geordie Shore when the cast filmed series 12 recently and has now explained he had to put his family first.
Opening up to The Daily Star recently, Kyle revealed the real reason why he wasn't pictured filming with his co-stars in Newcastle in the last few weeks.
He said: "I had to put my family first... He's got stomach, pancreatic and bone cancer in all one. It's been hard because he's my best friend."
Kyle added it wouldn't have been fair on production if he had returned to the show and revealed his former flame Holly has been helping through it.
"When she heard about my grandad she got in touch and said, 'Can I be there for you?' She's been supportive," he added.
22-year-old Kyle has since taken to Twitter to reassure fans his exit will not be a permanent one.
Fans had tweeted the reality star asking if this means he has left the MTV show for good. Kyle replied: "Just for now not forever."
He then told another follower he isn't ruling out a return to Geordie Shore: "One day but right now need to put family first that's the main thing in life X."
Kyle's reasoning for quitting Geordie Shore comes after fans will watch him make an early exit from series 11 on tonight's episode.
Things have been tense between himself and Holly this series, and after Kyle comes to blows with the boys, the rest of the cast have had enough. They tell Holly and Kyle the only way they can stop the drama if for one of them to leave.
Kyle decides it should be him who goes and Holly breaks down, after realising things are finally over between the pair.
Ahead of tonight's show, some fans have suggested Holly should have been the person to leave, but Kyle has insisted he would never have let her.
He tweeted: "The show [is too] important to her it's her life, means the most to her."
Geordie Shore continues tonight Tuesday 1 December at 10pm on MTV.
