Last week, reports revealed Gigi and Zayn are now dating and while they haven't yet put a label on their relationship, they are said to be "seeing how things go".
News of Gigi's new romance with the former One Direction star came just weeks after it was revealed the Victoria's Secret model and her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas had split. After moving on fairly quickly, fans criticised Gigi for moving on so quickly, forcing her to defend her relationship with Zayn.
According to the Mail Online, Gigi cryptically referred to her romance in a series of now deleted tweets. She said: "Sometimes life just happens.. For whatever reason in whatever timing. And sometimes it doesn't make sense till it does. That's it.'
Gigi then added: "If there was a real way to sit with each one of you and tell you my side of things, I would. But there's not, so I won't. I've found the only way to happiness is by living as though the microscope isn't there."
Her tweets didn't sit well with some fans and one user hit out at Kendall Jenner's BFF, branding her relationship with Zayn as "fake".
"You want the public to consume and believe your fake [relationship] - but don't want to be judged for it?" They tweeted. "Lol doesn't work that way."
Their response seemed to hit a nerve and Gigi reportedly defended her and Zayn's romance, replying: "Who are you to say what is fake? Your comment proves my point exactly. If you don't know, you don't know."
Gigi's deleted comments come after she and Zayn appeared to go public with their relationship.
The pair were photographed holding hands together as they left a Hollywood club in the early hours of Monday morning (30 November).
Confirmation they are dating comes three months after Zayn called off his engagement to Little Mix star Perrie Edwards.
