Since taking over from Dermot O'Leary on The X Factor, Caroline and Olly have both been subjected to negative comments online, with Caroline often being targeted for the way she looks.
Despite hitting back at her critics at times, Caroline has now revealed the constant abuse can be difficult to deal with, but luckily for her, she has BFF Olly to help lift her spirits again.
Opening up to The Daily Star, Caroline admitted: "I did have a cry and Olly gave me a big hug, bless him."
"It's the personal things that hurt," she explained. "As a female they pick on everything. Your hair, your dress, your weight. I'm not pretending to be the best presenter in the world or the best looking woman. I'm just doing my job."
The 36-year-old's comments come after Caroline recently slammed online trolls and body shamers.
After being on the receiving end of "shocking" comments about her body, Caroline was quick to hit back at those who had made "vile" remarks about her.
She tweeted: "It's very easy to take a shot at someone online. The vile comments about my weight and just all round look tonight are quite shocking. Have never said I'm the prettiest or thinnest or even anything special... But thank god I'm not horrible... Cool attitudes."
Caroline admitted she did give herself a break from Twitter after that and, since then, it has been reported that Simon Cowell has banned her and Olly from using their phones on the X Factor set.
In a bid for them to ignore the negative comments posed about them online, Simon had told the presenters to leave their phones elsewhere until after the show.
His rule enforcement came after Olly revealed he had smashed his phone, after getting frustrated with the comments he received after his live blunder.
Olly had told Monica Michael she had been eliminated from the competition, before reading out the public vote. He has since said his mistake has been was "massively blown out of proportion".
