Celebrity Big Brother star Austin Armacost has said he agrees with I'm A Celebrity bosses for axing Spencer Matthews.

After just two days in camp, Made In Chelsea star Spencer left the jungle, after it was revealed he had been taking a steroid-based medication.

Spencer has since said he was forced to leave I'm A Celeb and didn't go by choice, and now, Austin has spoken out on the reality star's exit, praising ITV for giving Spencer the boot.

Shortly after leaving camp, Spencer revealed the reason why he had gone and admitted he had been taking steroid pills.

Blaming his own "vanity" in an honest statement, the Chelsea boy said: "Why did I leave I'm A Celebrity? The simple answer is that I screwed up, and have some explaining to do... I told the production team that I was taking a steroid-based medication that had begun some weeks ago."

Spencer went onto say he had taken the pills in preparation for a charity boxing match that never took place and had intended to come off them gradually, but he didn't have time to do so before I'm A Celebrity.

Show bosses concluded it would be unsafe for him to stay on the show and Spencer was told he had to leave - a decision he has said was "hard to stomach". He has since admitted he regrets taking the medication.

Sharing his thoughts on Spencer's exit, Austin has praised ITV's decision.

He told The Daily Star Online: "As a certified personal trainer I don't understand why people put their health in danger simply for the sake of vanity. I am an all natural bodybuilder and I've never taken steroids in my life and encourage everybody to do the same.

"As public figures we should all help promote health and wellbeing not vanity & narcissism."

Spencer's exit came as a shock to I'm A Celeb viewers and he has since insisted he didn't want to give up his place in the jungle.

Taking to Twitter, he said: "Leaving was obviously not my call! I would do absolutely anything to still be in there. Was loving it!"

Spencer had been doing well in camp, after arriving to Snake Rock later alongside Vicky Pattison and Ferne McCann. The trio took part in their first Bushtucker Trial, Dicing With Death, with Spencer remaining as cool as cucumber despite facing a number of jungle critters.

Ant and Dec have since revealed they won't be replacing Spencer on the show.
