Could X Factor host Olly Murs be joining EastEnders?

If Olly had it it his way, he would be! Hoping to hang up his microphone and turn to acting instead, Olly has revealed he is itching to bag a role in the BBC soap and he has already planned out his character...

Speaking to The Sun recently, Olly admitted: "I'd love to do acting. I know that it's something I want to do. It's just whether I have the time to do it."

The 'Kiss Me Singer' revealed he wants to get back into acting and has plans to go back to drama school and re-hone his skills. Not wanting to be offered a role because of his famous name, Olly added: "I wouldn't want to do it because of my name. I want it because I want to act."

And if he ever did get the chance, there is one role that Olly is just itching to get his hands on - EastEnders' bad boy.

Wanting to take on the likes of Phil Mitchell, Max Branning and Dean Wicks, Olly has his loveable rogue character already panned out.

"I've always had this idea that one of the girls goes away on holiday, has a romance and brings her boyfriend back to the square," he explained. "Everyone hates him, he's a bit of a rogue. He's trying to chat up her sisters and best friends and he gets booted out."

Hoping to win over soap bosses, Olly has asked his pal Shane Richie (aka Alfie Moon) to put in a good word for him.

"I love Eastenders. I've spoken to Shane Richie," he revealed. "If there's ever an idea or a role and you think I could do it then I would jump at it."
