Despite being a former X Factor judge, Louis has no time for 1D, who are the show's most successful ever act.
The band - originally made up of Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik - were formed on The X Factor back in 2010. Zayn left the band in March and the others are about to take a break. And for Louis, it can't come soon enough.
He said: "I'm so bored of One Direction, honest to god. I've had five years of One Direction - I wish they'd go off in a different direction!
"I don't care now, I've had enough. I saw them on X Factor recently and they were just going through the motions. If that was Take That or Westlife, they'd really put on a show. They're the luckiest guys in the world."
After 11 years as a judge, Louis, 63, parted ways with X Factor this year and was replaced by Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw.
He turned down a spot on ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! and is now managing new Irish boyband, Hometown. But Louis hasn't ruled out a return to our TV screens.
"I met the I'm A Celeb producers three times and was about to sign up, then I made a mistake," he explained. "I told Simon I was thinking of doing it. He told me not to – he said it wouldn't be good for my credibility as a manager.
"He wants me to stay in music and said he might have another show for me."
"I'd have done well," he says. "X Factor is like a jungle and there's a few snakes on there too!"
Louis, who is working with Sony to promote their new BRAVIA TVs, admits he sometimes gets himself in trouble with the things he says.
"I'm a bit of a loose cannon," he admitted. "I tend to say stuff I shouldn't say, but I can't change. Sometimes I'm talking and I think, 'I shouldn't be saying this', but I still say it. It's too late to change now!"
Sony BRAVIA now has built-in YouView allowing consumers more access to on-demand content than ever before
