This time last year both Casey and Betsy were contestants on the talent show, so they know exactly what it's like to be performing in front of Simon Cowell and co every weekend.

Both had been mentored by former judge Louis Walsh as he had the groups. While Casey was part of boyband Stereo Kicks that finished fifth on the show, Betsy was a member of quirky group Only The Young.

The pair, that are now currently dating, headed back to Wembley Arena on Saturday night (14 November) to see this year's contestants take to the stage. And clearly looking forward to it, Casey tweeted ahead of the live show: "Excited to be going back to the @TheXFactor with @betsyblueoffic tonight."

Betsy, meanwhile, shared a photo of herself and her beau backstage, telling her followers: "Feels so weird to be back at @TheXFactor !! @caseycodyj."

Their appearance at The X Factor comes after it was revealed Betsy's band Only The Young have now split.

Despite releasing their debut single 'I Do' not too long, the group (made up of Betsy, Parisa Tarjomani, Charlie George and Mikey Bromley) decided it to call it quits, but the reason for their split still remains unclear.

Parisa was first to announce the news by telling fans she had left the group on her personal blog. She wrote: "During these past 3 years I have really grown up and I have learnt that you sometimes have to move on when things no longer make you happy. It got to the stage where performing and meeting you guys, was the only bonus for me."

However, her announcement caused a fallout between herself and Betsy on social media, with Betsy insisting it was a mutual decision for the band to split, not one person's decision to leave.

She hit back: "We have been deciding how to tell you guys that the band was coming to an end for a while - no one decided to just leave. Some people just wanted to give you that impression."

Before adding: "There are two sides to every story."

Following the fallout, Betsy has had boyfriend Casey to lean on for support.

And suggesting she is beginning to move forward from Only The Young, Casey tweeted recently: "@betsyblueoffic so nice seeing you not sad anymore. You deserve every happiness."

He knows all too well what it's like to bounce back from a split as Stereo Kicks announced back in July they too have gone their separate ways.

Casey is now focusing on modelling and his own music and will be joining his former bandmate Tom Mann on tour as a duo.
