As TOWIE wrapped up its sixteenth series recently, fans had been hooked by the 'Will they? Won't they?' storyline surrounding Jess and Pete. The pair have been romantically linked since that cheeky snog in Marbella, and despite a shock revelation from Lewis Bloor, it seems they were still keen to make a go of things in the show's finale.
However, despite knowing Jess and Pete have kissed and made up (quite literally), Lydia isn't sure she sees a future for the pair...
Opening up to Reveal recently, the Essex beauty shared her thoughts on her co-stars' relationship.
"I think they'll carry on dating," she said. "But whether they will end up together I don't know. I think it's still early days and nothing has really evolved that much."
"We'll see," Lydia continued. "Only time will tell, but at the moment I haven't seen a massive, massive connection."
Like Lydia, former TOWIE star Lauren Pope recently admitted that she thinks Jess and Pete are an "odd match".
"I wouldn't have put them together," Lauren told us. "I think [Pete] was better suited to Verity... You could see [the chemistry], they were very hands on with each other."
Fans, however, are desperate for Jess and Pete to make their romance more official.
One user tweeted: "Jess Wright and Pete Wicks better be a thing, they're both perfect." While another said: "I really want to see @MissJessWright_ and @P_Wicks01 together. :( jess you fool!!! @officialTOWIE."
The couple's romance had been rocked, after Lewis Bloor revealed to Pete he and Jess had kissed.
The same night Jess told Pete she didn't want a relationship with him, she went onto share a drunken smooch with Lewis following a night out together. Not surprisingly, Pete was hurt that Jess had kept it from her, telling his co-star she should have had more respect for him.
Speaking about *that* bombshell, Lydia insisted she had never expected Jess and Lewis to lock lips.
"I was in complete shock," she said. "When Lewis told me I was in ultimate shock. I did not see it happening. They were just two friends that had a bit to drink and ended up kissing each other, it does happen."
"We're all guilty of kissing somebody once in our life that we probably didn't want to or we shouldn't have," she confessed.
During an awkward showdown with Pete and Jess, Lewis insinuated that he and Jess had kissed more than once, while she shrugged it off as one drunken mistake.
Admitting she doesn't know who to believe, Lydia told us: "You hear one story, then you hear the other... you never know who to believe. But ultimately, it's not like Jess has committed the most mortal of sins.
"Yeah it was a little bit close to home, but she wasn't actually harming anybody because she wasn't in a relationship with Pete. Nowadays, people date two people at the same time and it's not frowned upon.
"Unless you make something official, you don't have to be exclusive to somebody."
