Rumours had been rife that Gemma was returning to the I'm A Celebrity jungle this year, after famously quitting the show following just three days in camp back in 2014. However, Gemma couldn't promise bosses she wouldn't walk again.
Now, she is determined to work through her issues and will reportedly follow in the footsteps of Katie Price and undergo therapy for a new show.
Earlier this year, Katie starred in Channel 5's In Therapy where viewers watched her open up on her past relationships (including her marriage to Peter Andre), motherhood, celebrity life and cosmetic surgery.
And according to The Daily Star, Gemma is hoping to bare all in a similar way to sort through her own problems.
A source said: "Gemma has struggled to come to terms with lots of things and she thinks this will be a great way to move on. It's not just a TV show to her."
Gemma, meanwhile, has returned to Australia, but she won't be venturing back into camp.
This time round, she will join Laura Whitmore and Joe Swash as a panellist on spinoff show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Now! .
She explained: "I was asked back into the jungle and I couldn't guarantee to producers that I wasn't going to walk again, so we all made the decision that it was best that we'd leave it for this year.
"But I am going out there... I'm going to do the panel show so I am really looking forward to that. I'm so excited I can't wait. Me and Joe [Swash] are doing a pretend Bushtucker Trial."
