Starting off in Marbella, the drama kicked off instantly with the arrival of four new cast members - Kate Wright, Michael Hassini, Nicole Bass and Liam Blackwell - who all made sure the series got off to a bang. We saw dates, kisses, deceit, shock bombshells, tears and tons and tons of drama.
We decided to honour some of the cast members with awards, while recapping the moments which have been the most talked about on social media.
So here at Reveal.co.uk, we present our TOWIE awards for series 16. Remember, everyone's a winner really! And it's just for fun!
HOTTEST MALE - Pete Wicks
Where do we start? He made his debut in series 15 and his popularity among the ladies has certainly increased. Long dark locks, a body covered in tattoos, those piercing eyes, generally beautiful to look at AND he is a lovely person too. Hands down, Pete wins our award for the hottest male this series. It also helps that he dresses really well too. Nicknamed 'Perfect Pete' and 'Pirate Pete' in equal measure, we've probably never seen girls go so crazy over a male cast member. He's not your typical Essex male, but that's what makes him stand out. Jess Wright, you lucky girl!
MOST STYLISH FEMALE - Chloe Lewis
This was a hard one but Chloe nailed it on the fashion front. From her head-turning outfits in Marbella to her understated chic ensembles back in Essex, Chloe never put a fashion foot wrong. And she looks so effortlessly stunning in them all!
BEST BROMANCE - James 'Lockie' Lock and Pete Wicks
The hugs, the coordinated outits, the banter and even *that* steamy sauna scene, what isn't there to love about Lockie and Pete?! Aside from them both providing some much appreciated eye candy, we love their friendship, and it seems like fans do too!
MOST DRAMA-FREE COUPLE - Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet
Georgia and Tommy proved their power couple status by not getting involved in any of the drama this series. The loved-up pair are stronger than ever and make the cutest couple. This series, they actually found themselves helping out their friends in need, James 'Arg' Argent and Lydia Bright, but will an engagement soon be on the cards for Tommy and Georgia?
FUNNIEST SCENE - Carol Wright and Debbie Douglas
We shouldn't laugh... but Carol being pushed over by Debbie in Marbella was one of our highlights. The pair were enjoying a bit of salsa on the dance floor, and having consumed alcohol, it all got a bit too much when Carol suddenly ended up on the floor - all thanks to Debbie! It definitely warranted a rewind, or two... It was so unexpected, but at least Carol saw the funny side!
MOST DRAMATIC SCENE: Lewis Bloor and Pete Wicks
It was the 'OMG, I can't believe that just happened' moment, but things kicked off big time when Lewis made the shocking revelation to Pete that he kissed Jess back at her flat. Pete was raging, and in an exchange of heated words, he swayed his head to one side and you could actually hear the very sound of his neck click. That was intense stuff.
BEST CLIFFHANGER: Lewis Bloor and Michael Hassini
As they battled for Nicole Bass' affections, Lewis pulled up in a car outside a pub and told Tommy the next time he sees Michael "it's on" between them. Then, Mike happened to walk out of the pub with Lewis giving him a seriously chilling death stare. Mike casually said to Lewis, "What's happening?", before walking off. Tommy then quipped to Lewis: "I thought you said it was on?!"
CUTEST SCENE: Pete Wicks and Jessica Wright
Everyone just wanted to see them get together after hearing about their "cheeky snog" in Marbella, and despite a rocky start, we were wondering if it was over for Pete and Jess before it really begun following Lewis' bombshell. But, Pete and Jess managed to sort out their issues and finally kissed in the series finale. No hugs, or high-fives, but a kiss! And, may we add, they look perfect together!
RECOGNITION AWARD: Lauren Pope
