Seann found himself eliminated from the competition during Sunday night's results show after ending up in the sing-off with Mason Noise.
But the boys' mentor, Nick Grimshaw, was unable to come to a decision.
Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini chose to send home Mason, but Rita chose to send home Seann. Nick decided he wanted to bring it to deadlock so that the decision would go back to the pubic vote, so he chose to send home Seann.
Caroline and Olly then read out the results from the public vote, revealing that the act with the fewest votes was indeed Seann.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Seann said: "Of course. How can he [Nick] choose between his children?...That's how the game is, he couldn't do that as us boys, we were the bad boys, we were a group, a unit.
"Nick has been hands on with all of us. He is fabulous, wonderful to work with, so he couldn't. It's like 'Sophie's Choice', he can't make that decision."
Despite being voted off the show, Seann intends to stay put in the UK.
"I'm sad. It's a crazy thing," he continued. "I came here from Australia to win the title but it's ok. That's life, a door closes but you've got to just run with it, it is what is it is, but it's my path, my journey, my destiny.
"I'm here to stay. My dad is from Hammersmith. It's so wonderful to reconnect with my British heritage. We went to the Cotswold for Judges' Houses and my dad said 'your great-grandmother lives around this area', what destiny! I am here to reconnect with my roots."
