It's been a busy 12 months for Ben Haenow since winning The X Factor, but he still has time to tune into the show that started his music career.

Currently enjoying chart success with Second Hand Heart, featuring Kelly Clarkson, Ben, 30, tells us which of the current X Factor finalists he'd like to team up with.

"I think Luisa is incredible, and so is Lauren. But I really think that Mason Noise is brilliant. He's an artist and he's smashed it," he says.

"What I'd say to all of them is to try and enjoy everything. It's hard because you get caught up stressing but you never get those moments again.... the whole buzz of being involved in the show, you meet new friends and everyone is happy.

"it's a crazy house – like a cross between prison and Glee! It's weird because when you come out you miss walking into a room where everyone's singing."

Ben has been working on his debut album but has kept in touch with his fellow competitors, which includes runner-up Fleur East and third-place finalist, Andrea Faustini.

He says, "We have a WhatsApp group. Of course you move on, but that you'll never get that bond and that experience of making it through together, again."

Since then, Ben's had Ed Sheeran pen a song for him, collaborated with Kelly Clarkson and is pls with Simon Cowell.

Despite so much going on, the fame certainly hasn't gone to his head. He tells us he was recently starstruck by none other than former TV chat show host, Dale Winton. (Yes, really!)

"I went to a Syco Records party and Dale Winton was there. I know you're looking at me like I'm mental but I'm genuinely a big fan. I loved Supermarket Sweep when I was a kid. I used to pull a sickie to watch it."
