The chart-topping rock band will be performing their hits on the first night of the music extravaganza at London's 02 Arena in December.
Just when you thought the line-up couldn't get any bigger or better, right?
The news comes as Coldplay announced their seventh studio album, A Head Full of Dreams, which frontman Chris Martin hinted to Capital Breakfast Show hosts Dave & Lisa that it could be their last.
Now that they've been added to the bill, Coldplay will join Ariana Grande, Nathan Sykes, Jess Glynne, David Guetta, Jason Derulo and Years & Years on the first night.
The second night is equally as brilliant of a line-up with Justin Bieber, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, Little Mix, Nick Jonas, Sigma and Charlie Puth.
Ashley Tabor, founder and executive president at Global, said: "What a way to end the week! We've had an incredible five days announcing the massive acts who are flying in for Capital's Jingle Bell Ball with Coca-Cola and I'm so pleased and proud that Coldplay are going to join us for an incredible night this Christmas."
Tickets went on sale today (Friday 6 November), and in record time, sold out under one hour. With only four weeks to go before the Christmas music event, the only way for fans to get their hands on tickets is to listen to Capital for ticket giveaways.
Capital's Jingle Bell Ball takes place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December. For more information, please visit: capitalfm.com/jinglebellball
