Brooke, who has starred on the cobbles for eleven years now, finally revealed she will be taking eight weeks out of Corrie to star in a play.
The starlet had teased some exciting news was to come from her and writing in her latest blog for Reveal, Brooke told readers: "I am off timetable from Corrie for eight weeks next September to perform in a play!"
Brooke had joked that since hinting she had some news on the way, many had begun to speculate whether she was engaged or pregnant.
Finally revealing what she has up her sleeve, Brooke said: "I have been teasing my news lately by saying "I've got something to tell you" and that is normally followed by the person then looking at my left hand or my stomach... So, I will say that I am not engaged or pregnant, but I am off timetable from Corrie for eight weeks."
Her confirmation comes after it was reported Brooke would be taking a brief break from Coronation Street.
According to The Mirror, show bosses at Corrie are keen for Brooke to experience performing on stage and have granted her some time away to head to the theatre. She is rumoured to be playing the role of a "pregnant mum" for a production at The Lowry Theatre in Salford.
It's said she may even tour with the production across the UK.
A source told the paper: "Brooke was approached to do live theatre and she asked Corrie bosses if she could take some time off next year.
"She is just waiting for confirmed dates but the Corrie bosses have been very accommodating.... It will be Brooke's first experience of live theatre and bosses are very keen for her to have that."
While she is planning to take some time out, the source insisted Brooke won't be leaving Coronation Street permanently. They added: "She is contracted until next summer but has absolutely no intention of leaving the soap."
That sounds pretty exciting, no? Congrats, Brooke!
