Yesterday, Ellie, along with girlband Little Mix, took to the X Factor stage to kick off the first result of the live shows this series.
She treated viewers to a live performance of her new single 'On My Mind' and while Dougie Poynter's girlfriend definitely gave it her all, that didn't stop some from criticising her efforts on Twitter.
Following her performance, Ellie was subject to some harsh comments on the social media site, with many users hitting out at her live vocals.
Ellie Goulding on X-Factor might just have been the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen.— Curtis Howard (@CurtisHoward64) November 1, 2015

Ellie Goulding on X Factor should give any contestant a lot of confidence in the fact you dont need to be able to sing to become a singer— Daniel Archer (@danielarcher92) November 1, 2015
However, Ellie hit back at the haters simply by ignoring them. While many didn't think much of her performance that saw her dancing in front of an electric clone, others absolutely loved it. And for the record, so did Ellie.
She took to Twitter following The X Factor's results show, tweeting: "Buzzing thank you X factor for having me #thecuriositycontinues."
The starlet then retweeted messages of support to her Twitter feed, including tweets from Scott Mills and McFly's Harry Judd who complimented her rendition of 'On My Mind'.

'On My Mind' is the second single taken from Ellie's new album Delirium. The album, which hits shelves on Friday 6 November, also features her number one hit 'Love Me Like You Do' featured in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
Following Ellie's performance of her new single, viewers watched as two acts were eliminated from The X Factor in its first live results.
Bupsi Brown was the first to be sent home, after receiving the fewest public votes, while Alien Uncovered were the second to get the boot. They had taken on Kiera Weathers in the sing off, before facing the judges to hear their fate.
While Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Rita Ora chose to save their respective acts, both Nick Grimshaw and Simon Cowell chose to save Kiera and eliminate Alien Uncovered.
Following the result, Cheryl said she was "shocked" to see her girl group go out so soon.
The X Factor continues Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November on ITV.
