From Paris Hilton to Megan Fox and S Club 7: 10 celebrity interviews that ended abruptly
After a lengthy interview - done mostly via a translator - the final straw was when the hosts asked JB if he'd help them break the internet. The answer? No thanks... He simply stood up and walked out of the studio without saying a word.
So that had us thinking. There have been SO many interviews with celebrities that have featured awkward silences, weird questions and celebrities simply storming out. Here are ten more celeb chats that ended abruptly:
1. Robert Downey Jr, Channel 4 News
The Iron Man actor walked out of an interview with Channel 4 News' Krishnan Guru-Murthy in April after being quizzed about how prison life may have affected his politics and the "dark period" of his life. While remaining super polite, Robert could be seen looking to the side of him – as if seeking out a publicist – before saying: "I'm sorry, what are we doing? Bye…"
2. Robert Pattinson, Ryan Seacrest
Ryan Seacrest was reporting on radio live from the Twilight: New Moon premiere in 2009 when R-Pattz came over for a chat. Unfortunately it was pretty short as Rob's publicist wasn't too happy with Ryan asking about Kristen Stewart. Rob, though, remained pretty cheerful and upbeat even as he was ushered away.
3. Paris Hilton, ABC News
The heiress and DJ walked out on interviewer Dan Harris in 2010 when asked if she worried her moment in the spotlight had passed now that the likes of Kim Kardashian had emerged. After flicking a glance at her publicist, Paris walked off… but did agree to come back and complete the interview.
4. Peter Andre, Sky News
This is a sad one. Poor Pete was feeling emotional when quizzed by Kay Burley on ex-wife Katie Price's marriage to Alex Reid back in 2010. The interview became emotionally charged when asked what he'd do if Alex wanted to adopt his kids. "Nobody will take my kids away from me and I'll fight to the death for that." Pete politely asked to stop the interview.
5. Russell Crowe, BBC Radio 4
The Oscar-winner was appearing on Mark Lawson's Radio 4 show Front Row to talk about his movie Robin Hood back in 2010 when he appeared a little bemused at Mark's suggestion there was Irish in his character's accent. "I'm a little dumbfounded that you could possibility find any Irish in that character. It's ridiculous. But then it's your show."
6. Selena Gomez, WGN
The singer ended a live video link interview in 2013 when asked by host Dean Richards about her friendship with Justin Bieber. After being asked about his "outrageous behaviour" and what the public may not get about him, the live link abruptly ended.
7. Rihanna, Sunrise
While battling sickness and promoting her debut movie Battleship, it seemed Rihanna wasn't in the mood to talk about love. When quizzed on how frustrating it is being linked to other celebs, she replied: "Very frustrating, almost as frustrating as being asked about it." The interviewer said the chat "abruptly" ended there and then.
8. Megan Fox, Entertainment Tonight
An interview between Megan Fox and Steve Jones ended rather abruptly when interviewer Steve ventured into 'baby' territory, casually saying: "Do you know the ultimate gadget that every man wants? A baby." That prompted Megan's publicist to say "stop" and end the interview. A giggling Megan didn't seem too upset though.
9. Preston, Never Mind The Buzzcocks
Celebrity Big Brother's Preston from the Ordinary Boys wasn't too happy when Buzzcocks host Simon Amstell poked fun at his then-wife Chantelle Houghton in 2009, reading extracts from her book. Preston's response? "See you later, I can't do this. I'm seriously going home."
10. S Club 7, Liquid News
Unlikely, we know, but back in 2003, an interview between Claudia Winkleman and four members of S Club 7 for the now-defunct Liquid News was ended abruptly after talk veered towards finances. While Jo started replying… a publicist walked in and said: "Sorry, I'm not having that. I'm not having you ask that question."
