Jamie said Tara has been the biggest regret of his love life, which has seen him have romances with co-stars Lucy Watson, Binky Felstead and Louise Thompson.
"Tara was the one and I made a huge mistake," Jamie told The Mirror, adding that he wished they could have made their romance work.
"I want a girlfriend. Where is she? I need to find her."
Jamie and Tara first got together in early 2013 and had an on/off relationship for about a year, but since, they've been romantically linked on various occasions, with the most recent being February this year.
Jamie's comments follow the latest episode of MIC where viewers saw him heartbroken as on-off lover Jess Woodley called off their romance.
Jamie dropped the L-bomb on Jess as they held crunch talks about where their relationship was heading.
Jamie told her: "Unfortunately, I'm in love with you. With you, I don't know what's going on. I don't know if you like me or you don't, I have no idea."
Jess said she felt the same: "I think I'm just as in love with you as you are with me. I care about you more than anyone in the world right now."
But after probing from Jamie, who said "You either have me or you don't, it's up to you," Jess blurted out: "Oh my god, I love you but we're not sexually compatible."
