TOWIE's Carol Wright has been gushing about Pete Wicks after he enjoyed a second date with her daughter Jessica Wright.

During Sunday night's episode (25 October), viewers saw Jess organise a date to an ice rink with Pete, and as their day was coming to a close, Pete admitted he didn't think Jess' mum Carol was a fan of him and his tattoos.

Jess and Pete went on an ice skating date.

But, Carol has proved otherwise in a new TOWIE video, where she was full of compliments for Pete.

"He's a really, really nice guy," said Carol. "I like the way he's cool, he's calm, he's laid back. He's quite sexy for Jessica. He's got lovely eyes. I want to see his hair down curly, but he's a great guy. I just love curly hair. I always wanted a child with really tight curly hair, and Pete may have the answer for me!"

At the end of their date, Pete had told Jess: "I think we'll always get on but I think because there is a little bit more there than friends, we'd be stupid not to just hang out and see what happens, do you know what I mean?

"I don't think your mum would be too happy about you taking me home anyway, by the sounds of it. Not a big fan of the tattoos and that?"

Jess interrupted and said Carol did in fact like him: "Yes she is, she thinks you're lovely. She really, really likes you."

Pete continued: "I get the picture I'm not your usual type. A bit too rough and ready for you...a princess looking for prince charming, do you know what I mean?"

But, Jess said she doesn't really have a type, adding: "I don't believe in prince charming. I promise I won't throw any more pies in your face."

During the episode, Pete also confessed to the boys that he and Jess had a high five, rather than a kiss.

While James 'Lockie' Lock said Pete should "move on" because he didn't want his friend to get "mugged off", Jess has since said that there was nothing wrong in giving a high five.

"They didn't kiss on their date, but that's not a bad thing," said Carol. "They're friends, and I think it's a good idea that you become friends and get to like each other."

Jess has also confirmed that she and Pete will be going on a third date, potentially going for a meal involving pie and mash.
