X Factor had its first taste of the live shows this weekend - and with that was a new announcer.

Taking over from Peter Dickson, Saturday and Sunday's live results show for the Judges' Houses introduced the voice of Redd Pepper.

Redd has replaced Peter.

Redd - real name Richardson Green - was born in Barbados and now resides in London.

Former tube driver Redd has voiced some of the most popular trailers for Hollywood movies including The Blair Witch Project, Space Jam, Men in Black and Boogie Nights.

He has also worked with Ant and Dec, done intros for Strictly Come Dancing and worked on various TV adverts, even being the voice behind, 'Ho, ho, ho. Green Giant'.

In July, X Factor announcer Peter quit the show after 11 years. Peter said: "After the best 11 years with the X Factor, it's time for me to check out and cut loose."

A spokesperson also said at the time: "We can confirm Peter Dickson has left the X Factor after 11 fantastic years. Everyone involved in the show would like to thank him for his sterling service for us over the years and we all wish him well in the future."

Now with the Top 12 decided and Redd Pepper confirmed as the new announcer, X Factor kicks off next week with the live shows, where the real competition will begin. Acts will perform live in front of a studio audience with the hope of impressing Simon Cowell and co., and with the public voting for who they want to save each week.
