The reality star enjoyed two very lavish dates with Liam in recent episodes - including a helicopter ride and champagne dinner at a private restaurant! - before going low-key for a walk and picnic in the woods last night.
It was after that date that she realised they didn't have much in common and called time on their fleeting romance.
Responding to critics via Twitter, she said: "For all those saying I only was into him because of his money, if I was only interested because of his bank balance I wouldn't have called it off."
She added: "Gatsby was lovely but just not for me guys."
On last night's episode, Liam had told Ferne: "I want to lay my cards on the table. I like you but I feel I like you more than you like me. I don't want to waste my time, I don't want to waste your time. I just get that sort of vibe. I'm laying my cards on the table – either we pursue it or we don't."
Ferne said: "I don't think I like you in that way."
Plenty of fans were quick to tell Liam there were plenty more fish in the sea, while others were more than happy to put themselves forward as future dates!
Whoever does date Liam next will be a lucky girl as he recently told us: "I'm a very romantic person. If I like someone I always really like them and I'll do everything for them. I just like to do things to make someone happy.
"I surprised a girlfriend with tickets to Los Angeles for Christmas, I took her on holiday for a couple of weeks. One of my ex-girlfriends didn't have a car so I bought her one for her 21st, so she could get about. It was a little Mercedes."
