Lydia cut off all contact with Arg after he lied about his whereabouts on a recent night out.
In the previous episode we saw Arg reveal to the boys that Lydia was upset after he told her he was staying with his mum, only he ended up crashing at Diags and Fran's house.
During Sunday night's episode, Arg said he was trying to take his mind off his recent troubles with Lydia.
Telling Tommy Mallet that he had a haircut, his eyebrows and nostrils waxed and eyelashes tinted, Arg revealed: "She's unfollowed me on Twitter and blocked me on WhatsApp and I've tried to call and text her and she's cut me off from that as well."
Arg said he "panicked" which led him not to tell her the truth, but Lydia was also confiding in Georgia Kousoulou about her relationship troubles.
Lydia said: "I can't understand why James would feel the need to lie. I know it sounds petty...tell me where you are and what you're up to and be honest. It's 10 steps forward and 50 steps backwards and I just feel frustrated with him now."
Later in the episode, Arg confided in Tommy again, telling him that they've "been through much worse than this", but admitted he was "really worried" about the future of their relationship. "The only thing that really gets to me and hurts is Lydia," Arg said.
Arg then penned a letter to Lydia, which Georgia delivered to her house along with a bouquet of flowers.
The letter read: "To my Lydia, I'm so sorry for what I've done. I've let you down once again. We never keep things from each other but I panicked and lied to you. I can't apologise enough. Love and miss you. James."
Lydia told her mum, Debbie Douglas, and Georgia after reading out Arg's letter: "I'm just so frustrated because I've never known anybody to have as much chances as James has had throughout his life.
"Everyone thinks this is just about Arg lying and it was just a silly mistake but there's so much more to it than that. I need to have some time away from him to work out if I can do this for the rest of my life."
