Max Morley confirmed his Love Island co-stars Hannah Elizabeth and Jon Clark have split.

Speaking at Binky Felstead's In The Style launch, Max confirmed what we already knew, that another couple from the ITV dating show have called time on their romance.

"They've broken up" he told us, something everyone had guessed after he sent a supportive Tweet to Jon following rumours he and Hannah were going through a break up.

The previously engaged couple appeared to hit out at each other on Twitter, with Jon cryptically tweeting: "Drink changes people," and Hannah saying: "It's so harsh when you learn what someone actually thinks of you..."

Now, Max tells us: "I honestly don't know exactly what happened between them. I know that things didn't go like they thought they would once they left the show.

"Jon messaged me saying things between them weren't the same on the outside world. I've not got a bad word to say about them, I love them both and I wish them both the best."

The split comes as a shock to fans, as the pair seemed blissfully happy just last month, when they attended Reveal's Online Fashion Awards together, where they told us they were "living a fairytale".

Jon gushed: "I feel like it was destiny really. We've never been so happy, and to think we met each other on a television show, it's crazy – we keep living this fairytale, and I hope our wedding is the best it can be."

Max confessed he understands the position Hannah and Jon are in, saying: "I get what they mean, I went through the same thing", after his own Love Island relationship with Jess Hayes came to an end back in August.

Before anyone starts complaining that love has died and the end of the world is nigh, Max provided a glimmer of hope, as he thinks Hannah and Jon will reunite. Fingers crossed!

"We'll have to see what happens, though I reckon they'll get back together," he told us, "In fact, I'll bet you £25,000 that they will!" Max basically just offered us all his Love Island winnings on the reunion taking place.

So with Hannah and Jon over (at least for now) and Max and Jess Hayes also calling it quits, there's now only one couple keeping the Love Island dream alive. No pressure Luis Morrison and Cally Jane - but it's all on you!

The whole 'outside world' thing seems to be causing a whole load of problems for the formerly loved-up clan. How about we get them all back on the island and get to watch the show every single night for the rest of our days?

It seems like Hannah and Jess have other ideas though, as from the sounds of things the two girls are moving in together...
