X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw has wished former contestant Tom Bleasby the best of luck after the 19-year-old singer decided to withdraw from the competition.

Leeds singer Tom decided to quit the show, despite winning a seat on Nick's team during the Six Chair Challenge because he did not feel "vocally ready" to progress further in the competition.

Nick tweeted Tom last night, saying: "@TomBleasby well done Tom for handling the pressure of the circus that is 6 chair! And best of luck for the future."

Tom said in an exit interview that he didn't feel he was ready to take on the pressures of the show or compete against the other boys.

"I just don't know if I felt vocally ready to take on the competition and the pressure," he said. "I'm quite a relatively new singer, back in March, I was singing in my bedroom, so I've never took to live performing very well.

"I'm still discovering myself and in the competition, there are some amazing singers and I feel like I need more time to get better myself, as I don't feel like I'm strong enough."

On Sunday's show, Tom won a seat only to end up losing it to Ben Clark. The crowd's boos were enough to make Nick change his mind and he brought Tom back, swapping him with Nathanael Landskroner.

In the coming days, X Factor are expected to confirm what will happen with Nick's category and his Judges' Houses, with many assuming that one of the boys who failed to get a seat in the Six Chair Challenge will get another chance in the competition.
