Louis Walsh didn't hold back while discussing his X Factor replacement Nick Grimshaw in a new interview, branding him a "groupie" and a "bad booking."

X Factor stalwart Louis was axed from the judging panel earlier this year after 11 years on the show, being replaced by BBC Radio 1 Breakfast host Nick.

In a new interview with Gogglebox couple Steph & Dom for their new Channel 4 show, it seems Louis is NOT a fan of Nick on the panel…

He is quoted as saying: "It's a bad booking. "He's a nice enough guy but he's like a groupie, you only ever see him with famous people."

We wonder what Nick will think of that? He certainly does have a slew of celebrity mates though, counting the likes of One Directon's Harry Styles and Lily Allen as close pals.

It's thought Nick has asked superstar DJ Mark Ronson to be his guest judge at judges' houses, which he will film in Oldham, Manchester, rather than abroad, because of his commitments to the Radio 1 Breakfast Show.

And no matter what Louis thinks of Nick, it seems Nick has boss Simon Cowell's backing. The music mogul and X Factor judge said this week that Nick is 100 per cent safe on the panel.

"It just takes a while for people to get used to new people," he told Daily Star. "When you do the live shows that is when it really counts. Nick is fun to work with and loves being on the show."

Meanwhile, rumours have been swirling that Louis could return to X Factor in some capacity when the live shows start, although Simon hasn't confirmed this.

Louis said recently: "Simon said the door was open to me months ago... There is a possibility I might end up on the show...But I don't know for definite. I'd like to. I'm available. I love doing X Factor, I love working with Simon. He is a loose cannon but he makes great TV. He is going to have the best TV show this year. But he has four judges - does he need five?"
